How do you pronounce ‘Egregious’?

I could have sworn it was “purrjoe” or maybe I've been listening to too many Brits.

I have no idea if my phonetic spelling is going to correct for an Australian, but it’s ehgreejus, or are my dictionary renders it: igrjs

That’s still closer than “pyoogot”.

Google Translate says “poo-’zhoe” but it may not be right

That’s bang on, at least for the anglicized version. I’ve been living in Paris for nine months and speak decent French, I know how it’s pronounced lol

Ha ha brilliant!

It’s a lot closer to the original French than ‘poo-got’. Besides, the UK’s actually one of PSA’s markets, with localised advertising and everything—we get to have a regional pronunciation. It’s like how Hyundai is pronounced ‘Hi-Un-Die’ in official Hyundai UK adverts.

LOL. This is exactly how I always pronounced it until I knew better. As a matter of fact, a few of my friends still pronounce it that way.

Haha, I can’t say I was any better before I learned! Certainly an automotive shibboleth of sorts.

That’s at least how I pronounce it...how is Citroen done then? (I say see-tronh or sit-tron if I’ve been watching too much Top Gear...)
